The FutureReady Million-Dollar Education Upgrade Contests.

These are contest Winners:

Here are the winners
and what they did to win.Westborough Middle School: School newsletters, posters, and voting drives created what one teacher called an "obsession" that "really brought together a community," with parents even enlisting their co-workers to get out the vote.

St. John Nepomuk Catholic School: A school assembly kicked the whole school and parish into gear, from parents creating FutureReady business cards for community distribution to middle school students using the contest as an opportunity to teach elementary school students how to use a computer.

Chinese Christian School: Motivated by the prospect of using the Mobile Computer Lab to communicate with a sister school in Beijing, the school spread the word not just in the community but to friends nationwide. Students kept spirit going on the home front by wearing "FutureReady" on their hats during student council campaigns.

Graystone Elementary School: Students, parents and community members showed their school spirit at a voting booth at the school's Pumpkin Bust Fall Festival, and during a pizza party at the school's computer lab.

Sebring Middle School: Voters streamed through the school commons between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. for an all-night community vote-a-thon, sitting in folding chairs with notebook computers. Even school board members could be seen dropping in at 1 a.m. to demonstrate support.

This website is setup to help schools to organize their contest. You can ask general public to help you to vote for you. You will find many sample email letters that will help you to group the parents/student together to vote.

There were three separate contests:

    Mobile Computer Lab Contest

    the Dell Intelligent Classroom Sweepstakes

and K-12 IT Visionary Contest.

All of the contests were already finished. The winners will be announced March 2006.

The vision from this program:

"Future Ready FutureReady is a collaboration between Dell Computer and Microsoft designed to help students reach their full potential through technology solutions. The companies believe some of America's most creative visionaries reside in today's classrooms, schools and local school districts. Through FutureReady, Dell and Microsoft are committed to identifying local education visionaries, shining a light on their innovative thinking, and inspiring the use of technology to improve education environments."

A Search For Educational Visionaries

(NAPSI)-Some of America's most creative visionaries reside in its classrooms, and some leading technology companies are on a search to find them.

Educators, administrators and staff can submit essays to Dell and Microsoft describing their vision for the future and how technology could transform education for their students.

Selected by a national panel of experts on education and technology, three winning schools will each receive Dell technology and services and Microsoft software with approximate retail value of $250,000 to help them achieve their educational vision. Winners will have the opportunity to share their vision with key education stakeholders.

"We are looking for big, exciting ideas-even things that might seem impossible," said Scott Campbell, Dell's vice president for K-12. "If you can dream it, we'd like to help you make it a reality."

To enter the K-12 IT Visionary Contest, an entrant must be an educator, administrator or staff member at a K-12 school in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.

The contest is part of a larger program called FutureReady, in which Dell and Microsoft will award more than $1 million in technology and services to K-12 schools.

In addition to the K-12 IT Visionary Contest, K-12 schools can participate in FutureReady in the following ways:

• Mobile Computer Lab Contest: The five schools with the most registrants on www.Future Ready.org each will win a mobile computer lab provided by Dell, Microsoft and Intel. Each lab has an approximate retail value of $10,000 and includes Dell notebook computers preloaded with Microsoft Windows XP Professional and other Microsoft software, a mobile cart, wireless access point and a Dell laser printer.

• Dell Intelligent Classroom Sweepstakes: Three schools will each win a Dell Intelligent Classroom, a technology-enabled classroom of the future featuring Microsoft education software, with approximate retail value of $75,000.

For a complete description of FutureReady contests and rules, and to submit an entry, visit www.FutureReady.org. Submissions will be accepted online until Nov.15, 2005. No purchase or entry fee is required.
